Dental implants offer a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth and are often preferred over bridges since they don’t require altering nearby teeth. The process takes several months. It begins with surgically placing a titanium screw (implant) into the jawbone through the gums. Multiple implants can be placed if needed, and the gums are stitched afterward.

Healing takes 3–6 months, during which the bone fuses with the implant—a process called osseointegration. Temporary crowns may be used during this time for normal function and appearance.

Once healed, an abutment (connector) is attached to the implant, and impressions are taken to create the permanent crown. The final restoration is either made in-house or at an external lab. Once placed, the implant looks and functions like a natural tooth.
